Our Editor's Take

The Kinda Funny Gamescast: Video Game Podcast is all about the world of gaming. While working for IGN, producers Greg Miller and Colin Moriarty set up the YouTube channel GameOverGreggy. Their only caveat was that the show couldn't be about video games. So, along with colleagues Tim Gettys and Nick Scarpino, they left IGN in 2015. They then rebranded under the name Kinda Funny and focused on video games.

The hosts have changed over the years. Andy Cortez and Blessing Adeoye Jr. are part of the team. They also run Kinda Funny Games Daily on Twitch, where they chat about comics, gaming, and TV. The podcast shares reviews, predictions, and game awards. When shows the hosts can't wait to talk about are relatively new, such as Starfield, the team is always upfront about spoilers.

Andy reviews Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon in one podcast episode. They rate it for the sound design and fun elements throughout. Andy admits that it's not an easy game to play. He believes it forces each player to check for mistakes and to learn from them. Tim admits to enjoying the game but doesn't want to confess how far he has reached.

In the same podcast episode, Tim reviews a Mewtwo raid in Pokemon Scarlet. He explains how, along with teammates, the task is to defeat past Pokemon characters. If the mission gets completed in the allotted time, the prize is to keep this legendary character. Tim talks about how the gaming community discusses strategies for each raid. He describes it as an intense race to complete them.

The Kinda Funny Gamescast: Video Game Podcast is informative and entertaining. While discussing gameplay tactics, the hosts are always honest and have fun laughing at their mistakes. They review everything from Final Fantasy XVI and Tears of the Kingdom to Dead Island 2. Listeners can also enjoy hearing from guests, including Mike Higham and Parris Lilly. New episodes debut several times each week.
