Dinner’s on Me with Jesse Tyler Ferguson

Sony Music Entertainment

I’m breaking bread with big-name friends—old and new—for a delicious meal and candid convos that can only happen over a glass of wine. We're getting out of the studio and into my favorite restaurants across Los Angeles and New York City with people like Julie Bowen, Kristen Bell, Fred Armisen, Jesse Williams, Niecy Nash-Betts, and so many more. I know, a celebrity-interview podcast, who’s doing that? No one. Which is why I needed to. We’ll get vulnerable about everything from relationships and family history, to mental health and imposter syndrome. We’ll laugh about my attempted modeling career and being starstruck by Beyoncé. Look, am I saying a chocolate soufflé is going to get me to reveal all my secrets? Yeah. Yeah, I am. So, join me… dinner’s on me. Dinner’s on Me is a production of Sony Music Entertainment and A Kid Named Beckett Productions. Want to be the first to get new episodes of Dinner's on Me? Our Editor's Take

The Dinner's on Me with Jesse Tyler Ferguson podcast has a fun mission. It combines a passion for dining out with great conversation. The host is Jesse Tyler Ferguson, star of Modern Family nd many Broadway shows. He has also cowritten a cookbook and loves eating out with friends. Here, he dines with actors, hosts, and friends to discuss their lives and food loves.

Star of black-ish Tracee Ellis Ross joins Jesse for dinner. He describes it as "food with a view" as he takes Tracee to The Roof restaurant in West Hollywood. Jesse describes the setting and the menu inspiration. Known for her fashion, he also explains what Tracee is wearing. It's the details he thinks podcast listeners will most want to know.

There is laughter from the start as they meet like old friends. Jesse begins by talking about attending Tracee's mom's 75th birthday. Of course, this was no ordinary birthday party, as her mom is none other than Diana Ross. Jesse recalls feeling welcomed, despite its impressive guest list of stars. He talks about Tracee's speech and hearing Beyonce sing "Happy Birthday."

Jesse and Tracee also swap stories about leaving behind a familiar set at the end of a TV show. After eleven years of Modern Family, Jesse describes it as a combination of a wedding and funeral. The actors tried to delay shooting the last page because they weren't ready to say goodbye. Tracee discusses working an incredible number of hours with amazing colleagues. She also rates the camera people, or as she calls them, the secret stars of the show.

During each Dinner's on Me interview, listeners can hear the waiters revealing the menu and bringing their orders. Whether it's crab nachos with Tracee or kimchi-fried rice with Julie Bowen, it's a reminder of their dining experience.
