This podcast is a great listen for those seeking an unconventional visit to radio shows of times passed. Audible's scripted podcast Summer in Argyle blends murder, mystery, and fun in the sun. Corruption, buried treasure, annual murders, and competitive eating contests are all part of this show. Mediocrity is the way of life in the town of Argyle. But there is nothing mediocre about this podcast.

In Argyle, one thing is certain: no one is a winner. Never coming in first isn't a problem. Everyone is ordinary-and they're all proud of it. But underneath all this mediocrity lies Argyle's biggest and darkest secret. The circumstances surrounding the death of Richie McDonough have never been fully explained. Richie died during a hot dog eating contest. But why? What happened? This mystery leads listeners down a path of jealousy, deceit, and hilarity. Fans of murder mysteries and comedy alike will find something to love in this podcast. Bob Odenkirk, the actor best-known for his role as attorney Saul Goodman in Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, narrates the series.

An offbeat call back to the golden age of radio, Summer in Argyle is as brilliant as it is absurd. Passionate mediocrity never sounded so great. The plot, complete with comical characters and surprises, is as original as it gets. The cast includes some of today's most prominent names in comedy, too.
